(The Truth of Heaven and Hell)
So, all humans (and other living things) die eventually, but what is not clearly known is what exactly happens after death. Millions of human scholars, philosophers, priests, kings, scientists, cultures, preachers, and peoples from all around the world have come and debated about what happens after the mystery of death.
Because Apart from the tragedy of death there is much mystery as well: did the human “soul” or “lifeforce” of the dead person leave their dead body to go to some type of afterlife? And if they did, what and where is that afterlife? And once you die will you see them again and will they even recognize or remember you?
From trying to answer this, there are Millions of answers to this one question of life after death: Most of them varying from culture/religion however almost all of them agree with one thing: once a human dies, they have a conscious non-physical part/life energy that does not die and leaves the dead body and continues on in a different form somewhere.
This “new life” is called the afterlife
But what is an afterlife? What does it actually mean?
It is defined as:
“A continuation of life after death” [1]
It means just that: it is the soul living after your body shuts down and dies and decomposes! (Hence the life after your physical life)
Basically, an afterlife is when the body dies you no longer have a physical body, but your conscious soul/life-energy continues to live on either on earth or in another place and life just continues in another physical or non-physical form, this is the afterlife.
But as said before, there a million types and forms of afterlives varying from culture/religion all of them cannot possibly be right! So, which one is what rightly happens after death?
As Christians know, compared to other religions (beliefs)/philosophies; the Bible is the only true source to life and reality because its author is the creator of the world: God Almighty (2 Timothy 3:16). God would be more than qualified to know what happens to humans after they die. You no longer need to wonder! God has spoken that answer in his holy word: the Bible, but it’s up to us to actually read it and find out what it actually says.
The Biblical afterlife:
Heaven and Hell
As different religions have their own explanations of what happens in the afterlife, so does Christianity: When someone dies their conscious soul/life-force either goes to Heaven: eternal paradise in the sky/third heaven for those who have lived a physical good life/accepted Jesus or Hell: Eternal torcher in fire for those who have lived an evil physical life/did not accept Jesus.
But as said before, even though many Christians think the bible clearly says this is what happens we should not just openly accept what Christians think to be true but should honestly look into what the entire bible has to say about the subject of Heaven and Hell.
So, let’s look about what the Bible has to say about Heaven and Hell.
